Delta Air Lines Inc. has agreed to buy a 3.55 percent stake in SkyTeam partner China Eastern for $450 million, continuing its strategy of taking minority interests in partners to intensify cooperation in competitive international markets.

In 2008, Atlanta had a nonstop flight to Mumbai. That was canceled and Atlanta travelers had to settle for a transfer in Amsterdam. As of March 15, that flight is now canceled as well. Delta blames subsidized Middle Eastern carriers for "flooding the market."
