As I was awoken at dawn the thought of a good hot shower was on my mind, and probably everyone elses’. But they all had to make Al-faji (prayer). As they stepped outside (in the mud) they soon returned and decided it would be done in the RV. Shortly after we all needed to clear the RV up and one staff member, who I won’t mention his name, decided to clean the restroom. Did I mention it was backed up.
I got a kick out of the conversation that Ahmed and Waajid was having. It was having. It was centered around fasting and breaking fast during Ramadan Waajid has this serious look on his face, even when everyone is laughing . I know he wants to laugh or break his serious expression, That’s why its so funny to me.
We finally arrived to NY. Everyone takes a shower. New life has sprung into the crew. As we arrived at the Masjid everyone is greeted very warmly. Even Sherod and myself the non-Muslims (for now, as they say). Which has been the case everywhere we go. It feels good to know we are embraced even if they don’t know us.

We had an eventful day yesterday. I ended up having to fix the couch that was broken. Of course no one knows what happened to it. I got some help from Bilal and Ahmed. The grill got broken and had to be fixed. Because this took a while we had to postpone cooking.
The chicken had to be taken to a freezer. The dude that was giving us freezer room had us bag the chicken since it was pretty bloody. I’m starting to realize my eating habits are eating away at my mental capabilities. So Im going to have to get some proper food in me. I haven’t really made as much progress in studying for the LSAT as I would like either.

On October 27, 2004 At 11am, Loading up to go to the Masjid at 92nd and Harlem, NY at 1115 am it was discovered that the bar-be-que grill was damaged. I was assigned by Faruq to find a welder and I advised him I found one. We took the grill to the location. The brothers started to weld on the grill 1215 pm.
The grill was worked on from this time to 625 pm. We stayed at the Masjid At – Taqwa for the night.

Day 11
The days are starting to feel like weeks. The weeks are starting to feel like months. When eleven are put to a test. Everyone are not going to pass the test. During the break in the test is the time to relax. For the most of us, this is the time to tense up. For I am trying to just this month long test. So pray for me!

Daily log NYC NYC NYC. What can we say the city that never sleeps. This place has so much energy that feeds or puts out enough juice to last a week or so after your gone. Today we encountered another obstacle and over come it. The grill that we pull on the back of the R.V. The frame cracked which took us all day to have fixed, which through us off of our plans for the day. InshAllah Tomorrow we’ll be able to get more done there’d over 200 Masjids this city, and we want to sign them all up.

Al Humdulillah I woke up Wednesday hung outside for a little while. I was ready to cook but the grill snap so we had to go get the grill welded. It took longer than we thought so we were unable to cook so the brother invited us to eat at his restaurant which was Al Humdulillah. I had curry chicken salad, deviled egg. But overall Allay has blessed me another day to live working for him. Sign Hasan Langford.
PS I got bit by a spider. Swoll up my leg into a big puss ball that burst last night with green liquid. I cleaned it out and put some advil and now I feel better InshAllah.

Last night there was a red moon eclipse. Maybe the slow cause and effect mapped the day before it. All day it was up to do our daily routine. We cleaned the RV, repacked our van which had the personal luggage, and scouted down the stop. Which is usually done by Faruq. My biggest worry is that the meat that we had stored under the RV. But I learned this morning Faruq had it placed in a Freezer. AL – Humdulilah.
Well, Earlier had different meaning for us to witness . We were to leave for another Masjid to setup for cooking etc. But it turned out Allah want us to secure our caravan. Just so happens the grill hookup suffered some injury. As we were rolling down the tight and busy streets of Brooklyn, New York, Leaving Masjid At-Taqwa. The grill started rocking like a see-saw, violently. It called for a Welder to weld the metal fame, which was broken in two parts. That killed our program for the day, but it was not a day off. Besides pulling, connecting, guarding and patiently waiting for the Main backbone of our unit, The giant grill, We parked and waited on one of the busier city streets of the world, New York City … Masha Allah.

I got a chance to see the coming together ourselves again at a time of panic among ourselves again at a time of panic and despair we came thru it. At a time you think you have time and there is no cause for panic. We got the problem fixed and we plan what we
Thought had to be done that day for the next day. Allah –U Akbar
Allah bless us to be looked upon as a group that is sacrificing a whole lot, and taking on a big responsibility and we are influencing believers to sacrifice and want to give.

Today is the fourteenth day of Ramadhaan. In this life (Road Show Life) Sometimes you just don’t know what day of the week it is, or the date, or what day of Ramadaan it is! The way some people, if not all, keep track of time is knowing what state we’re in and how many more stops we have left.
Yesterday was slow due to the broken grill. We spent pretty much the whole day in or around the RV waiting for it to be fixed. My journal entry is being written from the basement of Imam Siraj’s Masjid, where I can feel the Subway running under me. The highlight of the day was the Philly Cheese steak that I scored by walking a New York block in a New York minute.
