The Membership Goals for the Members of Masjid Muhammad is that the operation and management of the affairs of the community be conducted in accordance with the principles of Al-Islam under the Leadership of Imam W.D. Mohammed.  In this regard, overriding authority shall first be sought in the Qur’an and then in the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad Ibn Abdullah, the Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him (PBUH)and The teachings of Imam W.D. Mohammed. Trustees, officers, employees and members are expected to act within the boundaries of the Qur’an, the Qur’anically sound Hadiths &  Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the law of the land.

Masjid Muhammad is organized for purposes of establishing Islamic religious, charitable, educational, and community services. These include, but are not limited to:

(a) Building and maintaining masjid;

(b) Establishing and maintaining Islamic educational institutions, such as Clara Muhammad School;

(c) Assisting in organizing and conducting religious, charitable, social and cultural activities; and

(d) Assisting the community in funeral and burial activities.

Eligibility

Any person shall be eligible for membership in Masjid Muhammad if he or she:

(a) Is a Muslim who accepts the Qur’an as the final revelation from Allah, and Prophet Muhammad Ibn Abdullah (PBUH), as the Last Prophet of Allah;

(b) Identifies with and supports the leadership of and expression of Al-Islam provided by Imam W. Deen Mohammed; and

(c) Accepts Masjid Muhammad as his or her principal religious organization; or

(d) Is the minor child or under guardianship of a person who meets the first three criteria.

Registration

To be recognized as a member, a person must be registered with the corporation’s business office. Registration is made by submitting a membership registration form or other written statement requesting membership that contains the name, address, and, if available, phone number of the person seeking membership.  Persons over the age of 18 must register themselves. Persons under the age of 18 and persons over the age of 18 who are under guardianship, may be registered by their parent or guardian. On a case-by-case basis, the Board will consider and must approve an application for membership by a person under the age of 18 who wishes to become a member without the permission of a parent or guardian. 

Good Standing Criteria

A person shall be in good standing if he or she:

(a) Has not been suspended or terminated; and

(b) Is registered; and

(c) Regularly attends masjid activities; or

(d) Regularly pays charity; or

(e) If due to an incapacity is unable to attend masjid activities or pay charity, regularly interacts with one or more official representatives of the masjid.
